The tester's body features a protection-encased analog voltage meter display, anti-sparking internal switchgear, and an external handle grip at the top for easy portability. The copper clamp connectors are equipped with red positive and black negative rubber grips, making it easy to identify the correct placement of the test clips on the battery terminals.

The device's technical specifications include a fixed load current of 100 AMP, a 100 AMP load test for 12V batteries up to 1000 Cold Crank Amps, and a 50 AMP load test for 6V batteries up to 1000 CCA. The voltage accuracy is ± 0.2V.

The load-on-test switch allows users to draw battery current, simulating the starter motor draw, for accurate and easy-to-read determination of the battery's condition. The test cycle involves holding the load for a maximum of 10 seconds, with a 10-second test cycle and a 1-minute cool-down period, allowing for a maximum of 3 tests within 5 minutes.
